"Just try me once and I might let you go
But try me twice and I'll own your soul
I'll ravish your body, I'll control your mind
I'll own you completely, your soul will be mine
The nightmares I'll give you while lying in bed
The voices you'll hear, from inside your head
The sweats, the shakes, the visions you'll see
I want you to know, these are all gifts from me
But then it's too late, and you'll know in your heart
That you are mine, and we shall not part
You'll regret that you tried me, they always do

I can bring you more misery than words can tell
Come take my hand, let me lead you to hell."

Edit: 081006 TOP 10 SIGNS YOU ARE A FUNDAMENTALIST CHRISTIAN

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

Out to kill the postal office.

I'd sent two art pieces for someone very deserving of it..only to discover that the sent "parcel" had gotten lost during delivery. Go figure, things touched by my hands only end up in a dirty, dirty place. I've to re-draw them..hopefully they won't get lost this time. And I'll stick on a return address as well.

Out on another creativity slump.

I've been re-experiencing feelings of loneliness and belittlement. Yet again/As usual. It's not so much of the self-disparaging case but more of the unappreciated and seemingly forgotten fractions of my being that are really taking the hits this incredibly lovely time. I feel as if I'm slowly forgetting what it's like to have a friend who likes you so much that he/she knows you backwards as well as all-around. I've never been great keeping buddies that I'm mutually fond of, and especially during summer does the reality sink in that they aren't going to be buddies anymore by the time school starts. I suppose I'll end the self-pitying before it morphs into some sort of self-insulting rant that I usually wave around.
Anyhow, the creativity's been lacking as I had already mentioned. I previously found myself inspired by aquatic creatures/marine animals but that inspiration had quickly been put out. I had an especially wonderful concept to present a human illustration of the lionfish--but surely enough I didn't feel passionate enough about the idea and dropped that as if it had weighed a ton. Thoughts for a certain personally-well-loved character of mine had also surfaced around the time the aforementioned idea had burnt out, but only one of the four designs was created into a 20-minute droodle. I've also still an entire list of projects I've been meaning to complete..and that had been set up over half a year ago. As sad as it is, not one has been completed nor started. Not one of it is really too difficult of a feat to finish either, and that fact really smacks disappointment into my pencil and my paper.
At last, as events have it, I am not even inspired enought to really write everything out here--how fortunate for the lot of you. I'm going to try to call someone now.
Note: Call failed. I should know better than to interrupt a movie session.

ConnetiCon '06!

Mon Jul 10, 2006, 9:02 PM
Let me tell you, this is my 3rd "other" convention, right after AnimeNEXT and ComicCon, yet in all this is my 5th. And let me say that this is an extremely pleasant 5th that some others may not have experienced. Now let's skip this damn introduction before I forget what I was going to write ='P

Friday: (Note: some of this might be in wrong chronological order xO d'oh on JL.)
The first day was most particularly interesting because we had to travel up to Conneticut from Jersey. So after a 5-hour trip Stacey, ~fadingtwilight0 and I finally arrive into the parking lot of the convention center.. At first we were confused because it didn't seem like anyone was there. Then we saw a Momiji cosplayer, who was very good might I add, on her way into the building. I was elated. Anyhoo, upon entering the building ~fadingtwilight0 and I immediately took note of the impressive..area. It had a comely appearance and I found myself comfortable right away. My parents directed us to a line to get our badges and as we were walking, I found myself amused by a Sim cosplayer and a gal with a DollZone dollfie. After a few minutes, we found out that we were in the wrong line >_< Dammitall. But I guess it was okay, because we were actually behind a group of EXCELLENT Furuba/Fruits Basket cosplayers. The Hatori was really cute but uh, now I'm getting off topic haha. xD; So, um, continuing on.. Everything else was uneventful until we found Artist Colony. There I found my buddy running PopCult Anime and Leanne Peacey, whom we each spent $10 on for Zombie chibis.. I started the whole zombie thing, hurhurhurrr. Then afterwards, we decided to backtrack along ArtCol until the man standing by the second table called out to us. He began pointing at the prints placed out on the table and explained a few of them. I found myself interested and asked how much a commission..then he said he wasn't the artist BARG! But all was fine, since he decided to talk a bit about her. After listening for a few minutes I found her personality to be incredibly adorable and decided that I'll have to ask about commissions later. So, walking along, walking along..after a bit, we found that the dealer's room was open so we decided to check it out. And HOLY freaking CRAP, Miss Marty Alice LeGrow was there! (And she was wearing a really cute skirt godDARN.) O_O I just about died inside my head. I said some stupid things to her that I hope she doesn't think I'm too weird, but nonetheless I got her to sign my Bizenghast book and even drew a cute little Edaniel in 'ere.. Life can be good, pals. We even stuck around to chat with her a bit and we got a picture with her that she's going to send to me just as long as I remind her. xD; I was surprised how comfortable she seemed to talk to us--she spoke very casually and I felt dumb for being so tense just a few moments before. It was a nice experience listening to her talk about the whole fishsticks joke and about her eating hotdogs, looking over the pictures and video on her camera, and then just discussing Bizenghast in general. Needless to say, I was a happy little marshmallow =]. A bit afterwards, we found Rob who we caught was cosplaying Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club..but HERE, he was cosplaying Raito. *_* He was honestly rather fitting for Raito as well. ~fadingtwilight0 I could tell was satisfied. After our "see you later"s we continued to stroll along the dealer's room and holy POOP I saw that Michael (credited for VG Cats) had his own table there! @_@ He was swamped so I decided to check him later.. He was pretty adorable, he looked happy and was all smiley and stuff. =3 So, anyway, back to ArtCol. THE GIRL WAS THERE OMGOSHEXCITEMENT! xD; Sorry. Well, her name is Jenny Bannock and after chatting a bit, I found myself fond of the gal so Aisha and I decided to commission her. She said she'd get them done either that day or the next, so the three of us decided to leave her be so that we may be surprised later. So then after wandering a bit, we found the line to the Cosplay Dating Game (which could be considered incredibly short as opposed to AnimeNEXT's lines) and joined in. About 30 minutes later, we took our good seats and waited for it to begin. K, the "introducer", (also caught her at AnimeNEXT x3) was entertaining the lot of us as she introduced everyone for the first round. Lady number 1 was Lirin from Gensomaden Saiyuki; Lady 2 was Rip Van Winkle from Hellsing; "Lady" 3 was Shuichi from Gravitation; Lady 4 was Ayeka from Tenchi Muyo. The bachelor was described as "the all-time angst magnet. His hobbies are leveling up.." and other things that were TOTALLY obvious. The bachelor was Cloud! [insert crazy crowd roaring and cheering] The whole thing seemed to be more of incredible improv, most of them being rather witty and almost planned. My favorite fraction of the time was when one of the Ladies had said, "Well, I like my hair..." and Cloud had responded with "Yeah, I like mine too..." xD; That Cloud was more of a cutie although he was mighty attractive, and he spoke real quietly and honestly? I had thought he was just getting into character. Then I figured out that was how he REALLY spoke later on, which was even cuter. I'm getting off track..well anyways much to our relief Cloud had selected Shuichi. [insert fangirl squealing] Ja I'm a loser. Then round two was just pure fun.. Aeris was the bachelorette. Mister number 1 was Jafar; Mister number 2 was Itachi from Naruto (GOOD GOD OH YES); Mister number 3 was Momiji; Mister number 4 was Roronoa Zoro from One Piece. Anyway, Itachi and Zoro liked to bicker which was interesting.. At the end, much to almost everyone's dismay, Aeris picked Momiji instead of Itachi.. @.@ Awwies. Then we had a badly-timed dinner and then rushed to see Piano Squall. *zoom* He was actually unbelievable cute! xD; I found myself attracted within no time. He was also a cute little pianist--he smiled when he played and just looked SO happy to be there. He said some really cute things..haha. The first song he played was the intro to Chrono Trigger, which I was happy about. Then he played 3 songs in a series..the first I don't remember, but the second was from Final Fantasy 9 and the last was Change The World from Inuyasha. Then he played some sad songs...=[ one of them being from FullMetal Alchemist. When he was finished with them, he began talking about old games. My face looked like O_O as he played Megaman's Dr. Wily theme song. Afterwards he played the Super Mario Platform theme song, then moved onto Tetris, then back to Super Mario again, and finished with Zelda. So Piano Squall was amazing to watch, and afterwards we checked back on Jenny and ~fadingtwilight0 picked up her sketch commission, which was INCREDIBLE! I was excited for mine. o_o Well anyways. The three of us decided that she is God and thus were determined to give her some gift art..=3 S'all good. Then Stacey, ~fadingtwilight0 and I decided to call it a night and head home to finish Jenny's gifties. Let me add that we also stopped by to say our goodnights to her.. =] We all really loved the comment about "the Trio" and "When you're not standing around and talking to her, she's talking about you guys." We love you, Jenny!! =D

Saturday: (Note: Some of this isn't in correct chronological order either. ='C)
'Kay! Stacey, ~fadingtwilight0 and I woke up....put on our costumes (save for Stacey)....and headed for the convention center. FIRST thing we did was visit Jenny. =] W00t w00t Jenny pwn5. There I presented my gift art and a collaboration that ~fadingtwilight0 and I did...needless to say, she was beaming. =] There I also picked up my commission, which I MUST say, had to make me sit down. Absolutely beautiful!! I'd never ever seen such an excellent portrayal of my own character out of someone else's drawing...well, maybe, but nonetheless it floored me as much as other drawings have. I was the happiest marshmallow you ever did see. (wtf is with the marshmallows, JL?!) Yeah who knows. Oh, we had also seen Skootkadoot and Souls 101 (on DOA) with their dollfies before all that, and they had informed us that there was a dollfie panel at 11 in meeting room 21. I was determined to go, so we did after the Jenny event. =3 The panel was fun, I was content. If I'm not mistaken, there was a Volks Topi, a Dollzone doll, DOD Shall & Lahoo, Gomidoll Igon, Luts Chiwoo & Soony, SoulDoll Paris, ModelDoll Ipsae Monahan, and a few others that I can't remember. Everyone's dolls were absolutely stunning..I took pictures after the dollfie presentation. During our introduction (which was right before the picture-taking), when I introduced myself, I said some rather silly but it had to be said: "Hi, nice to meet everyone. That's Stacey, that's ~fadingtwilight0 and this is Leu. Well, I'm JayEll over Den of Angels and over DeviantART, just in case anyone browsed that site. Leu's hobbies are falling over forwards"--everyone laughed or chuckled at that point--"and I like drawing, anime, and obviously dollfies." It was a happy time, really it was. I still send my sympathies to the Lahoo, whose lips were all..tacky, as they were explained, and had black spots on them. =C Hope that Lahoo-dear gets fixed up by DOD. After that we had lunch, went to the dealer's room, went back to see Jenny (I ended up commissioning her again) and then decided to sit down, watching the "sword battles" in the main room (I guess). One of the more remarkable ones was Auron vs. Wisdom form Sora. It was an interesting battle, Auron kept pulling off moves in which he twice stole Sora's sword, and then proceeded to "stab" him as he writhed on the ground. There was a lot of Auron-smacking-Sora's-butt movement, which amused ME greatly. xD; I was especially fond of the whole Auron-tried-to-steal-Sora's-sword-but-they-ended-up-skipping-in-a-circle show. It was amazing. Then something even more amazing happened--a VOLDO cosplayer!! PERFECT at THAT! I was actually quite intimidated because he was so awesome. But I got pictures--3 of them on my phone. I found it adorable when he had to pull up the bandages from his eyes.. xD; Gawd I'm such a dorkus. Anyway, it turns out Voldo had joined the sword battle with a previous contestant..and EVERYBODY stopped, looked, and went "OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH" when Voldo began shifting and moving like he did in the game. I had to squeal, ~fadingtwilight0 knew that too. ^^ Unfortunately, he lost...but I still thought he was amazing. And then my memory is all hazy after that, but I'm sure we stopped by the dealer's room. xD; Ja that must be it. Then night fell..waited in line for the Masquerade shortly after supper<3 (note that I went to see Jenny beforehand, then picked up my commission. GOOD GOD SHE NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME!!). It turns out the Masquerade was delayed a bit, but it was wonderful. The first skit was botched up with the electronics, so the featured Akabane (also an artist I noticed at ArtCol) began to dance. Everybody was pretty amused by it. The Masquerade went on, the first skit really catching my attention (you know, the one with the dancing Akabane. =]).. one of the more notable ones had to be the one where 4 Naruto cosplayers went all-out Aqua Teen Hunger Force on everyone, Sasuke "unleashing" a "monster", said monster being Rock Lee. Rock Lee started dancing, doing some CRAZY windmill kicks in the beginning, then went to kick Kakashi in the bum, then somehow ended with a Flashdance scene. Jiraiya ended it as Carl/Karl. Another good skit was the infamous Uchiha Nick doing his Ryuichi song--man he knows his stuff. Another great one was when this cute Yuna got on stage and began singing and holy POOP she was darn inspirational. Another singer was someone I couldn't identify..but she was unbelievably good! ~fadingtwilight0 and I noticed she had a pretty crazy lisp, but she was still a MUCH better singer than me. *eats a stack of butter and garbles* On of the other wonderful skits also had characters that I couldn't recognize, but that trio was incredibly amusing due to the fact that they had created a parody of one of the rent songs. I think it was Today For You? I'm unsure. Another REALLY good skit was the belly dancer--HOLY she could MOVE! I love how her hip shakes and chest thrusts and shoulder movements went according to the song she was dancing to. Although I don't really approve of skimpy outfits, I understood why she wore this one. Barry also made a funny comment at the end over the mic: "Dear diary, best day EVER!!" xD The three of us thought that was pretty great. And alas, the most wonderful walk-on-walk-off skit I remember was Voldo WHOO who took a bow. =] How in character. There was also someone who was dressed up as an Iron Chef..who took a bite out of the "pepper". It was especially cute with this one because he did some stand-up. The best thing he said was his closing line: "Remember kids, only you can prevent making other people that look like you." Pretty freaking great if I don't say so myself. ;> The skit that made me laugh most was the one with two Links and another character I can't recall..dancing to "Dude Looks Like A Lady". OH! And the two FullMetal Alchemist skits were comical and cute. The first one based its comedy on Ed's flute-playing and Roy's singing..then suddenly, Roy stops and said, "You messed up the song!" Then Ed bucks up with "Are you calling me short?!!" Ahahahaaa. The second consisted of the only Armstrong cosplayer I've ever seen--carrying our dear hostess onto and then off the stage, setting her down at the stairs then walked off. Armstrong then saluted everyone, then ripped off his jacket and howled as a bedroom joke..it was all cute. The Masquerade was great. The three of us really, really liked it. MAN it was AWESOMEEE. As a matter of fact, it was so mind-blowing that I can't remember what else happened that night that I wanted to write about...ah, that's right, the AMVs. I think the winner for Drama featured the anime for Le Portraite de Petite Cossette, which looks incredibly interesting. The winner for comedy was Naruto's Jiraiya voicing over the Ask A Ninja: Ninja Dog episode. It was fantastic. Well, this is all I'm gonna write for now..till I remember some more great stuff. xD; Check ya later, pals!
